2 Teaspoon Fresh Ginger 2 small pieces of Ginger
4 Teaspoon Tumeric Root 4 Tumeric Roots or 2 tsp Tumeric Powder
3 Teaspoon Tamarind Paste 3 tsp Tamarind Paste or Pulp
1 Litre Spring Water 1 Litre Spring Water
To Taste Honey Honey is optional
3 Teaspoon Lemon Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon wedge

      This Indonesian elixir is believed to cure many health issues and can be easily brewed by using select and health beneficial ingredients.  Jamu can be served hot or cold.

      Grate the Tumeric and Ginger

      Add the Fresh Ginger and Tumeric (fresh or powder) to 1 Litre of spring water and bring to the boil. Boil for 25 minutes, the mix will become slightly creamy.

      Remove from heat and allow it to cool for a few minutes and then blend using a hand held blender or blending device.

      Add remaining ingredients (Tamarind, Honey, Lemon) and blend.

      Once cooled completely strain the mixture and bottle it in an airtight container. It should last a few days once refrigerated.
